How can I absorb everything I read?

Answers don't beg the questions but questions are the answer: if you want to be able to get every idea out of what you read, then you need to ask the right questions. Humans typically are able to store about 5–9 questions in their working memory, so before you start a reading session ask 5–9 questions of your choosing related to what you'll read. Needless to say, answer those questions at the end.
